Jobs in head & neck cancer nursingTHE JAMES COOK UNIVERSITY HOSPITALMACMILLAN HEAD AND NECK SPECIALISTNURSE37.5 hours per week Agenda for Change Band 7 Salary range: £28,313 - £37,326 per annum plus Pension and Staff Benefits An exciting opportunity has arisen in the South Tees NHS Trust Cancer Centre for a Macmillan Head and Neck Specialist Nurse to join our existing post holder within the speciality of Head and Neck Cancer. We are seeking a highly motivated and flexible individual to join our team. The successful candidate will work alongside the existing Macmillan Specialist Nurse in developing Head & Neck services and will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They will work across ENT, Maxillofacial and Thyroid teams linking closely with other professionals and providing specialist nursing care and advice. As well as playing a key role within the MDT and in the co-ordination of patients’ pathway they will contribute to the provision of expert clinical practice, multi-professional education, clinical audit and service development. The post will offer you the opportunity to positively influence care for patients with head and neck and thyroid cancers and their families. Applicants will have a minimum of 5 years post registration experience, 2 of which will be head and neck related specialties, oncology or palliative care setting at a senior level. Additional experience in head and neck cancer or thyroid cancer would be advantageous. They will have a relevant first degree, a specialist qualification in oncology/palliative care or head and neck cancer and a teaching qualification. Ideally you will have a Masters Degree or be willing to undertake one.
