Welcome to the British Association of Head and Neck Oncology Nurses web site. We hope you like it!

BAHNON exists to facilitate networking between nurses working within the field of head and neck cancer, in order to share ideas and promote good practice.

It is run by a committee of ten nurses who do this in addition to their own full time jobs.

To get started, you can download our Vision, Objectives and Strategy guide. (PDF file)

On this site we aim to help nurses and AHPs share information on best practice, for example guidelines and patient information ideas. These are provided by members who generously wish to share with others. Please feel free to download these and use as you see fit, but in return, please share your own work. We add new documents and news nearly every week so add this site to your Favourites list so you can check it regularly.

The BAHNON Conference

This year's conference provided a diverse, interesting range of speakers, the highlight being Ciaran Devine , Chief Executive of Macmillan Cancer Support who provided us with an insight into the 'bigger picture' politically.  There was much to inspire us and encourage us in our work and despite the apparent diversity of subject matter on the agenda there were some common themes - changing practice and service development, patient choice and patient centric working are just a few.

Despite the difficulties that we are facing as a result of restricted budgets and less study leave there was an excellent turnout at the conference from across the country with plenty of networking goign on.  As mentioned at the end of the day, we aim to post all the presentations on the website within the next few weeks.

One last word should go to the company represantatives who are always enthusiastic in their support of the conference and because of this, we are able to keep the entry fee as low as it is!
